HOW DO YOU RECORD SOUND PLAYING ON THE COMPUTER INTO AUDACITY. IT SAYS ERROR OPENING SOUND DEVICE?
It worked fine, and then all of a sudden, nothing. It states error opening sound device when I hit record. And in preferences under the Record pull down menu, there are no devices listed.
I ASKED ABOUT A DLL ERROR MESSAGE UPON START UP, I GOT A DETAILED ANSWER FROM ONE OF YOU?

I JUST NOW realized that my first name is spelled wrong on my birth certificate. My driver’s license, social security, credit cards and whatnot are all spelled first name Cesar while the Birth Certificate says Cezar.
I am 18, can I fix this error myself? How do I go about doing that?

I’ve been having problems related to Audacity, also. I’m not sure if they’re very related to yours, but here’s my ideas. If it has no devices listed on the Record pull down menu, I’m pretty sure that means it has no device to record from, or it can’t find one. If you changed you recording devices recently by accident, that might be the problem. And if it says “Error Opening Sound Device”, that means it cannot record from wherever you are telling it to. Check in your preferences or settings for the Recording device. If it’s recording from something that is offline or inaccessible, there’s you problem. also make sure you aren’t recording from an input. If you can’t find a recording device ANYWHERE, either everything is turned off or Audacity got corrupted. If Audacity continues no not work, try another recording program. I suggest NGWave. Even though you have to get a keygen for it, it’s a very good program. If you do get NGWave, try recording from your Sound Card. If your Sound Card is turned off, try your Onboard Sound.
